The work. Measuring uncertainty and its effect on investment and hiring, the Economic Policy Uncertainty index, management practices as a driver of productivity, and the definitive research on working from home.

The case for. He made uncertainty a measurable macro variable and made management quality an economic object. The remote-work research became the reference point for every return-to-office fight.

The case against. The uncertainty work leans on real options theory that Dixit and Pindyck laid out, and the management and remote-work strands may look to the committee like well-executed measurement rather than new theory.

The KmikeyM angle. Bloom shows firms freeze when the future gets foggy; KmikeyM's stock has been pricing the fog around one man's future since 2008.
